New home and strengthening our scientific team
June 02, 2021 — It’s a busy time for Samsara Therapeutics as we move into our new purpose-built labs and offices in the Wood Centre for Innovation in Oxford. This is a brand new facility funded by the Oxford Trust, which is centrally located (close to the Old Road University Campus) in a pleasant woodland setting. For us, it’s important to move into state-of-the-art labs and offices that allows us to expand our scientific team. Since the beginning of the year, we’ve welcomed five additional team members, including our new head of biology, John K. Blackwood, who will spearhead the expansion in Oxford. We will build on our target identification capabilities and continue to develop new autophagy-related assays to advance our understanding of the compound series we have identified.
The investments will allow us to achieve our goals of entering the clinic in a rare monogenic disease while in parallel progressing our compounds in neurodegenerative disorders. In both areas we are looking forward to being able to report some exciting data very soon.
